Really great tour ! We had a lot of fun. We got what we expected. Distance is not too far. Slow paddel will get you there. We had 2 great guides: really helpfull and kind made us feel safe on the water they also explained a lot about the surroundings wich was a added bonus. Even gave is some great tips om what else to do in the city. Would recommend this activity to other people. If you are on the taller Side you might have some discomfort in the legs but it is totally worth it.

My friend and I joined the Tawharanui Wild Kiwi Bird Spotting Encounter, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We were in a small group of 11 people, which made the experience feel personal and well managed. With the help of a very experienced and knowledgeable guide, we were very lucky enough to see 4–5 wild kiwis in their natural habitat. The guide provided red‑light torches, which were a must for spotting the kiwis without disturbing them. The tour duration was very reasonable, around 2 hours + 75 mins (each way) commute time to-and-form Sky Tower. For the transport, we added the NZD 100pp shuttle service, which was convenient and hassle‑free. Suggestions. 1. Bring a warm jacket - As the tour takes place on a peninsula in the evening, as it can get quite chilly. 2. Bring some snacks - Since it’s an evening tour, it may get a bit hungry. Overall, this was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience and a lifelong memory. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Auckland who wants to see wild kiwis.

We booked this after Cyclone Vaianu changed our plans for this week and we were so pleased we did. Collection from the Sky Tower made it easy as we didn't have access to a car and Milly, our guide, was fabulous and went above and beyond for us. Despite rain earlier in the day, we had a perfect clear night for kiwi spotting which came with the added bonus of dark skies meaning we got a pretty incredible celestial show as well. We all got equipment and a clear briefing on appropriate kiwi spotting behaviour before heading off on a 2km walk over easy, relatively flat ground. We were lucky to spot three kiwis on our walk but it's not guaranteed. Milly also paused about half way through the walk to give us more information on the birds and the conservation efforts in the park. This was an incredible experience and is easily one of the highlights of our trip. I would recommend comfortable shoes that can cope with damp conditions underfoot and layering as it gets really chilly. Great for all ages as the walk is pretty gentle but only take your kids if you can trust them to be silent for nearly 2 hours.

Very Good Guides, Lots of local knowledge. They offer a variety of adventures in a variety of locations. I did Kiwi Watching - They guarantee to see a kiwi. Told us how to find them, At one time we were surrounded by them - Heard them but didn't see them. Quite a walk in the dark, as in the booking. Saw four kiwi, got close to two. So great to see them in the natural. Didnt see any other birds except pukeko - some say is a pest. They can provide transport if needed. #kiwi #tour #Nature #100%NewZealand

Just wow! Our guide Legend lived up to his name :-) This was such a special experience. I had never see a kiwi in the wild before and we saw three, including a pair who were loudly discussing whether or not to mate - he got a firm no. Legend was so respectful of the birds and looked after us really well, giving us all sorts of information as we walked. We came away buzzing from the experience and won't forget it.
